SolaceStudies Nursing Tutoring
Our History

Solace Studies began accepting students in August 2013. It was created by a nursing educator, seeking to assist nursing students with learning effective studying habits and test taking strategies. Solace Studies also connects nursing professionals with nursing students to provide mentorship.

Katomi BSN, MSN, RN owner of Solace Studies, has been in the nursing field for close to 20 years, beginning in high school as a certified nursing assistant (CNA). She graduated from NC A&T State University in 2005 with a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. She worked in several areas of nursing including, Mental Health, Medical/Surgical, Telemetry, Mother/Baby, Oncology, Home Health and and post surgery.
In 2010, Katomi graduated with a dual Master's degree of Science in Nursing (MSN) in nursing administration and nursing education from Stevens-Henager college. She began teaching on a collegiate level in nursing, medical assistant, pharmacy technician and phlebotomy courses. She created Solace Studies in 2013, in an effort to increase the number of minority nursing graduates. Her goal is to increase the number of minority nurses and improve the quality of care people of color receive in the healthcare industry.
She developed a study module that shortens the time students spend studying but maximizes the information understood and retained. Katomi continues to learn new ways of improving nursing education by working with students at Solace Studies and mentoring other nursing professionals.
